FAQ about cabins in Bournemouth

Sea Air and Savoir-Faire

Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.

The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.

Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.

At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.

On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

Bournemouth is a very nice town with beautiful sandy beaches. There is plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. It is a bit out-of-date and looks like its glory days are gone though, as there were many closed shops at the city centre and the feeling was it looked a bit sad and abandoned.

Ged and Jane were very welcoming. They put Easter chocolate eggs on the bed for us, which was a really nice touch. -The room was exactly like the pictures! It was the cleanest room I've been in a bed& breakfast/hotel in the UK. The room was on the top floor, so it can be quite warm in the from time to time, but there is an air-conditioning unit! -Breakfast was lovely! -Locationwise, it's 5min walk from the Bournemouth train station. It takes something like 20-30min to walk to the city centre.

Sue, the proprietor was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I needed Oat Milk and it was supplied. The breakfast was the best we have ever had. The choice was Continental, Full English or both, top quality. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with ensuite facilities. There was off road parking available. The hotel is just a 5 min walk from the beach and town, also just 45 min walk along seafront to Bournemouth. We will definitely be coming back...

I was impressed with everything. Staff were amazing and the breakfast was run very efficiently. The room was clean and comfortable. Location was also perfect. Opposite shopping and cinema and a short walk to the beach and pier. Stayed at few places in Bournemouth as visit my daughter and I would certainly stay here again. Unfortunately all hotels are expensive around the area but this was one of the cheaper options but certainly didn’t feel I was in a cheap hotel.

Really lovely staff and very helpful. I like all the Britannia hotels. Had not got a room for the next night – so stayed at the Royal Bath hotel -which also is very good and a lovely staff and very helpful too. I asked for a single room and was given a very comfortable double room in both hotels. I have a mobility scooter and it was easy to be able to charge it up each night .I come to Bournemouth quite often and usually stay in a Britannia hotel.

We had a one night stay (should have been 2 but our ferry was cancelled) . Staff were very friendly,,bed was comfy & the breakfast was lovely. Beach was very close & the hotel even kept our cases safe as we weren't flying out until late in the evening. I've seen some reviews about the decor being dated but I felt that it was a real authentic English seaside experience. Will most definitely return & for longer next time.

This hotel is perfectly situated for an easy walk to music events at O2 Academy Bournemouth. The staff were very welcoming and efficient, the hotel was quiet even though many guests were staying there. The breakfast buffet manager was friendly and the food offering was very good with everything well laid out and to a very good standard. Good hot shower and beds were average but fine for a night. Booked for joint birthday celebration and theatre visit so we wanted something near the centre of Bournemouth plus parking, which is very expensive in the town car parks. The room was very warm and comfy, the staff were great and the breakfast was extremely good and plentiful. Easy stroll into town & all that it offers. Located in the cleaner and leafier end of west Bournemouth hotel land, this small hotel is one of many in between the city centre (The Triangle) and the West Cliff.
